UNIQLOCK

The Brief:
UNIQLO was seeking an innovative way to build its brand awareness internationally,
and promote its business expansion into the global market.
We recognized the 70 million blogs worldwide as a powerful buzz-building media,
and created a functional and entertaining blog widget for the bloggers to spread the brand globally.
The campaign concept we developed was the fusion of a CLOCK which functions as a blog utility,
time signaling MUSIC, and DANCE performance videos with UNIQLO clothing.
We named it UNIQLOCK. As a 100% UNIQLO branded widget, this automatically became a tool
to connect UNIQLO and the world's bloggers.

The Launch And Execution:
As a teaser, we uploaded 16 audition videos onto YOUTUBE.
Then we launched the UNIQLOCK site to start distributing the blog widget.
The numerous dance videos and the clock counter appearing seamlessly one after another makes
the viewers eager to see more.
Since the widget plays all-year round, 24/7, the dancers change their outfits according to the season.
The bloggers were motivated by seeing the website’s world map which visualized the expansion
of all of the users.Screensavers and shop installations were also released to enhance
the UNIQLOCK experience, from personal desktops to the UNIQLO stores.

The Results:
Over 99000 widgets from 96 countries
Over 88 million views from 230 countries (the wedgets + the website)
Over 800 thousand views on You Tube (the audition videos)
Over 775 thousand downloads (the screensavers)
0 >> 974 thousand web pages (google)

JUNYA WATANABE - SPRING 2010

In a world of hipster poseurs that you too often want to punch in the face, Junya Watanabe is the real deal, a guy who knows it's not about swagger, it's about the glide. In this case, it's a bit Mingus meets the Mods. Un-vented, vintage-y looking suits in three buttons or double-breasted are cut tight and paired with wingtip shoes (and wingtip sneakers). There's a confident mix of fabrics and textures, all built for layering: denim with moleskin patching, waxed coats, corduroy topcoats in camel, andQuadrophenia-ish parkas in olive drab. In short, classics for the guy who appreciates classics, but digs seeing them reinterpreted.

CURVES AHEAD BY SØLVE SUNDSBØ

V Magazine have this month dedicated to exploring, in beautiful fashion of course the Plus Size model. Photographer’s such as the indomitable Terry Richardson and the beautifully high concept Solve Sundsbø have shot some great editorial.

Solve Sundsbø, also tackling the subject, goes for something a bit more sexy and lustrous, check it.

ONE SIZE FITS ALL BY TERRY RICHARDSON
Richardson’s uses the reigning Queen of Plus size modelling Crystal Renn (or so they say...), pitting her against a size zero opponent in a witty and provocative spread called “One Size Fits All” It reminded me a bit of the Zoolander walk off with the full on poses, and pokes a bit of fun at the pomposity of the Size zero/Plus size debate.

ADIDAS STAR WARS COLLECTION

The collection for the first season is split into three packs -- The Characters Pack, the Vehicles Pack and the Direct Pack. The products in each pack take inspiration from the respective aspect of the Star Wars lexicon from legendary characters and crafts to classic scenes and fuse them with iconic adidas Originals silhouettes. The pieces will begin to hit all adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January. Also, look out for a very special web application announcing the adidas and Star Wars collaboration which will hit the internet within the next couple of weeks. Below is an overview of the products within each pack.

Characters Pack
This pack takes the most iconic moments and characters from the Star Wars saga and brings them to life across five sneakers, two short sleeve T-shirts and the Superstar Track Top.

Vehicles Pack

For this pack, inspiration from the well known vehicles and crafts from the Star Wars saga are taken and translated into five iconic adidas Originals sneakers and two key adidas Originals apparel models. Across these models homage has been paid to the distinguished features of airborne crafts and land based vehicles from both sides of the Force and executed them to appeal to both adidas and Star Wars fans alike.

Direct Pack

Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers appear in this pack as well as in the Characters pack. Also, the Women's Game Mid silhouette that appears here is inspired by Princess Leia, featuring gold detailing paired with a modern high-top silhouette with matching apparel.

STAR WARS SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION 2010

adidas made use of the Bread&Butter Winter 2010 get together to celebrate the launch of their Star Wars collaboration collection that was already reported on several times all over the internets. The party took place in a cool underground location in Berlin.

The products in the season’s first drop take inspiration from legendary Star Wars characters and scenes and fuse them with iconic adidas Originals silhouettes. In this first look we present details of the upcoming Skywalker and Yoda sneakers, as well as a Star Wars tee and Stormtrooper hoodie. The pieces will begin to hit all adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January.

Also, a report about a collaboration between Porter and Star Wars is in the works. The line consists of tote bags, backpacks, shoulder bags and wallets. They used a Stormtrooper and a lightsaber all-over pattern on the bags. We appreciate the fact that they kept it pretty subtle with the colors and patterns, at least compared to what they could have done. The collection will be released at Zozo in January 2010.

After the adidas Originals x Star Wars collection, as well as the Porter x Star Wars line, here you get a look at the New Era x Star Wars cap collection here now. All of your favorite characters are included in the line-up. Of course most of the caps are a little extreme, but for the hardcore fans among you, definitely something to look out for! Via Warp.
